All Campus Email From Katie Callow-Wright, Executive Vice President of the University and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President (August, 3, 2021)

From: Katie Callow-Wright, Executive Vice President of the University and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President
Subject: Urgent Reminder: Submit COVID-19 Vaccination Status
Date: August 3, 2021

I write today with an urgent reminder that University faculty, other academic appointees, postdoctoral researchers, and staff, including all Biological Sciences Division employees, should upload proof of their COVID-19 vaccination in the University’s registry by August 13, 2021. As announced last month, the University expects every University employee to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they cannot do so because of a medical or religious reason or other authorized exemption. As an additional incentive, employees who register their status by August 9 will be entered in a drawing for a number of Apple AirPods, iPad Pros, and an iMac.

Employees who do not upload proof of vaccination by August 13 will be required to participate in a weekly COVID-19 testing program, in addition to recently updated masking requirements. These requirements apply to University employees who access University facilities in the Chicago area for any reason and at any frequency. Information regarding exemptions and implications for unvaccinated employees who do not comply with required mitigation measures will be shared at a later time.

You can find instructions for submitting proof of vaccination in this message sent to employees on July 14 and in this step-by-step guide. For additional questions, please refer to the University’s Vaccination FAQs.  For questions about how to upload proof of vaccination to the registry, please email studentwellness@uchospitals.edu and include your phone number, UChicago email address, and UChicago ID number.  Your UChicago ID number can be found on the back of your University ID card.

Please note that separate vaccination policies will apply to employees of the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC), employees with patient-facing or credentialed job duties in the Biological Sciences Division, and those employed by the UChicago Charter School or the Marine Biological Laboratory.

Vaccination is a crucial part of our plans for a full resumption of in-person activities on campus this Autumn Quarter. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
